Having a reasonable grievance procedure in the workplace can encourage a thorough, speedy, and satisfactory resolution to any issues highlighted by an inmate in the first instance, helping to avoid lengthy and costly issues As a correctionsl/sergeant I am responsible for resolving daily inmate issues before they expand, incidents or grievances. Ensures that services and programs are delivered to inmates assigned to the unit. Make daily rounds through assign units, talking with staff and inmates, observing operations and interactions between staff and inmates. Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship. Take appropriate action to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations. Meets with the Case Managers to assists with development of individual program plan based on inmate needs, unit missions and objectives. Writing various reports such as incident, offence and Witness. Following and completing all directives given, and working as a team member. Conducting living area searches as well as pat / frisk searches on offenders. Following all company, state and federal laws. Emergence Response Team. Make periodic patrols of quarters and work areas and initiate counts of inmates at regular and irregular intervals; maintain control and discipline including use of physical restraint and restraining devices; prevent the introduction of contraband into the institution.
