Core Accomplishments
Diverse Market/Industry Knowledge:
Possess broad knowledge and experience in workforce development, nursing, and allied health professions as evidenced by the various numbers of different service lines assigned. Managed the operations of the highest revenue-producing service lines in the hospital, including Orthopedics, Neurology, Cardiovascular, Gastroenterology, Rehabilitation, and Critical Care Services, as well as lower revenue producing service lines such as Fitness and Emergency Services. All service lines produced significant revenue. Project Management:
Working closely with the Alabama Board of Nursing, created and directed the implementation an in-house IV Access Team, which resulted in a savings of $200,000 in the first year by eliminating the need for contract vendor services for insertions of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (heretofore referred to as PICC lines).Designed, and directed the implementation of a Rapid Response Team to improve quality outcomes for failure-to-rescue patients. Failure to rescue decreased by 20% within the first year of implementation. Created, facilitated, and directed the implementation of a Fast-Track Service located within the Emergency Department for the treatment of non-emergent conditions, decreasing overall wait times, improving patient and physician satisfaction in the Emergency Department, and increasing revenues by 25% within the first year of implementation. Devised and facilitated the development and construction of a Critical Care Tower expansion, two Emergency Department expansions, and an Ortho/Neuro Tower expansion, adding 80 additional beds.
