PA I was welcomed into the home of the Kovalcik family to care for their 3 children. I arrived to feed the children breakfast and get them ready for the day. We had free play for an hour and then I would take time to teach songs/finger plays, alphabet, colors, counting, reading books and different seasonal learning activities. We would play outside if weather permitted or take a field trip to a local recreational facility. I would feed the children lunch and make sure that they had a nap. The two older boys went to preschool twice a week and I safely transported them to and from school. I would do the laundry for the children twice a week and change the bed linens twice a month. Each day as the children would nap, I would tidy the play areas and kitchen area. I provided the parents with a daily update in a journal. The update was my way to communicate the daily activities with the parents. I worked closely with the parents to develop a positive yet clear discipline policy.
