For an employer or team, I believe I provide a variety of helpful qualities and skills for many settings. Wether I am working independently in a focused setting or working in a multi-tasking, fast paced setting, I am confident in my what I provide. I come from a setting of a single mom who worked hard at two jobs that she stayed with until she retired. At 14 I started working in a fast paced restaurant filled with regulars. This is where I learned hustle, communication, social connections outside of friendships, active listening, and teamwork. Soon I was brought onto the catering team as well. This is where I learned Fluency, professionalism, attention to detail, and goal service. With those, when things got rough or short handed I was a runner in the restaurant. From one second to the next I was waitressing, going to a function, or thrown in to cook. Cooking is where I learned how to work in chaos, adaptability, easy going attitude, and I grew thick skin. Naturally, I wanted to work a second job, so I started at Regal. Starting off as a popcorn girl, I was promoted to assistant manager and at the legal age, Floor manager. Here is where I gained team building, many varieties of administrative tasks, payroll, scheduling, customer service, management tasks, responsibility for large sums of money and accountability, clear communication, delegation, overseeing employees and giving them the tools and confidence to strive in their jobs. Problem solving and time management to make the business run smooth and correctly with both a happy environment for the staff and customers. In 2006 I moved to Indiana where I started off working at a home daycare filled with 24 children of all ages under 5. Then Moving into a home I bought, I have been self employed running daycare for the past 17 Years. With this I have learned the simplest of things but some of the most important; patience, grace, understanding, diversity in families and their needs or values, being a face and presence of safety, how to nurture, contour approach per the individual, the importance of learning from independence, and appropriate discipline that comes from caring and educating. Other side skills I posses and their roots are, dealing with no time to take things personally and being in the middle of loudness due to my family members. Dealing with teenagers all my life because I was the free in home babysitter for my brothers. Importance of teamwork and fluency from sports teams I have been apart of. Relatability and the importance of a happy and fun environment from nursing home volunteering. Then I pay tribute to being a mom.. Both my children were home schooled with me till the age of 8. With that I learned when to push, when to pull back, when to encourage, and how difficult it is to teach the english spelling and subtract fractions. My Main goal when someone describes me as a team member would be for them to say I am reliable, loyal, organized, easy going, provide a happy environment, adaptable, teachable, solid, and that they do not worry about me because they know I am good at my job. To be an important member that carries her weight and others if they need it that day.
