This position required me to have outstanding customer service skills, be highly detailed, honest and dependable. I wrote detailed reports and used the computer daily. I was also responsible for monitoring the luggage conveyor belt system, resetting and fixing it when needed. Promoted to Facility Grounds Manager in 2011 and was responsible for training all new employees for cremation operations duties. In the course of my duties as Grounds and Building Manager, I used a plethora of hand and power tools to maintain the grounds and buildings. I used shovels and rakes to manicure the flower beds and gravel parking lots, used chainsaws and hand saws to prune/trim trees and bushes, used weed eaters to trim sidewalks and buildings of unwanted weeds, used blowers to remove grass/debris from sidewalks and parking lot, used picks/post hole auger to dig fence/post holes, used snow/regular shovels to remove snow from sidewalks and walkways and spread ice melt, used reciprocating saw for shrubs/tree trimming, used tampers to level the ground after planting, drove a forklift to unload trucks and move large animals, used spades and wheel barrows to plant flowers and shrubs, and had to be exceptionally strong to pick up deceased animals and move horses.
Afforded safety and security to inmates, facility and County residents by containing inmates per Oregon Revised Statutes. Daily duties included searching both persons and cells; effective communications with inmates and the public; computer usage of both a critical and sensitive nature.
