Although I only have 9 months of experience, my work in the healthcare setting through the entirety of the COVID-19 pandemic has taught me to become a seamless adapter and a quick, precise learner in the face of daily-changing protocols and unknown clinical territory. I am an intuitive Medical Scribe, trained in both Outpatient Family Medicine and Emergency Department documentation. I am accustomed to scribing with providers working at a notably quick pace. Additionally, I have experience in NICU medical data collection in the research capacity, as well as experience with non-medical social work (unlicensed), project corroboration with Santa Clara County Public Health Dept., and an extensive background of community-based volunteerism.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, I discontinued outpatient scribing (detailed below), and cross-trained to the ED to assist providers with documentation and treating a multitude of COVID-19 + patients. Accompanying providers throughout every patient interaction, documenting every aspect of the medical chart. Experience in documenting Full and LImited Trauma Activations (being a Level 2 Trauma Center), psychiatric emergencies, inter-facility transfers, and expected daily medical and trauma emergencies. Extensive experience with EHR Cerner Millennium.
Accompanying clinic provider into every patient encounter, documenting every aspect of the medical chart. Experience in documenting on dozens of prevalent chronic illnesses and comorbidities, chronic illness management, inter-provider correspondence, acute illnesses, minor injuries, and additional health concerns. Additional experience with documenting during the onset and spike of COVID-19 in Colorado, daily-changing clinical recommendations, and additional unprecedented requirements. Extensive experience with EHR Cerner Millennium.
Data collection and organization of multiple ongoing NICU research studies, primarily maintaining a substance-exposed infants database, MRI/US Head imaging structural measurements, and High Risk Infant Follow-up database management. Active participation in weekly meetings and continuous correspondence with team of neonatologist physicians. Moderate experience with EHR Epic, limited experience with ICD-10 coding and California CPS protocols.
Assisting lab instructor in answering questions, presenting pre-lab information to students, and continuously monitoring students during lab, while practicing and teaching proper chemistry and safety techniques.
