I have held every position in maintenance at the Postal Service. I started as an entry level Maintenance Mechanic assigned to mail processing equipment. After attending training for industrial electrical maintenance, I was promoted to Mail Processing Equipment lead mechanic. I worked on the night shift for a year before taking a lateral transfer to Building Equipment Mechanic. As a BEM, I attended training on the maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment. I was also tasked with all other building repairs such as plumbing, electrical and fire systems. After spending 2 years as a BEM, I was again promoted to Electronics Technician assigned to mail processing equipment. I have attended multiple on the job training classes since then. Holding multiple positions in the maintenance department has made me a well rounded maintenance technician that is capable of learning how to maintain and repair any piece of equipment.
