Experience
04/2017 to Current
Educational Technician Department Of The Interior Downingtown, PA,
Since my employment I have had the privilege to run the state tuition assistance program because of my supervisor had to attend multiple military schools. In the absence of superior and a designated guidance counselor I am to advise, counsel and provide customer support for individuals that are seeking career and educational goals. I work very well under pressure also meeting requirements prior to deadlines.  I have the ability to research or seek information to perform my daily duties and projects that are assigned to me. At the beginning of each school semester I have to collect roughly around 50-175 applications for state tuition assistance per semester. With these applications I have to ensure/research that the service member(s) applying for tuition assistance are currently in good standing with multiple universities/colleges. Once receiving these applications; I must get into contact with the student and the university to get cost verification sheets (these are individual accounts). Completing this task, I have to create purchase orders/invoices for state programs, so they can pay the school. Attention to detail is crucial to each transaction since I am using state money. Reporting and recording to superiors regarding the funds in accordance with prescribed procedures, laws and policies. I am currently tasked with an NGB (National Guard Bureau) project to recoup service members that are currently in or out of service due to outstanding debits acquired by not fulfilling federal tuition assistance regulations. Doing this I have to ensure that notifications and recoupment letters that are sent to service members are in accordance with AR 25-50, statute of limitations, and the law. Prior to this I have had to obtain certificates with the JAG university. Attention to detail and vast amounts of research are needed to ensure that everything is done legally. I must use AKO, iPerms, GIMS and other systems/data bases to complete daily tasks. Proficient in Microsoft office products such as: outlook, PowerPoint, word and excel are used on a daily basis. Being in the military has made me become reliable, detail orientated, positive and always willing to accept a challenge.   Fortunately I was asked to become a TCO(Test Control Officer), in order to administer the AFCT (Armed Forces Classification Test) and the DLPT (Defense Language Proficiency Test). I volunteer for any additional duties and I am always willing to improve myself and increase my work knowledge.
