Early Head Start Parent EducatorCommunity Link - Breese, IL10/1999 - Current For the past 17 years I have provided high quality services to the families on my caseload by building a strong rapport with the families, listening to their needs, assisting them in recognizing and setting goals for the family and their child(ren). I then am able to provide them with information pertaining to those goals and emotional support so the family can make an educated decision on how to work towards and accomplish their goals. In addition to these services I have been providing the families information about child development and age appropriate expectations including social and emotional development and behaviors, ideas for home made toys and activities they can do in the home with their children, and completing all necessary paperwork, assessments and reports required for the position. I have also worked individually or as a group to plan & implement the required playgroups, socializations and parent meetings. I continue to be a strong advocate for the First Step Program in the community and will take the initiative to contact local agencies to promote our services. In the past several months, I have sought out and received eleven referrals to the Early Head Start Program. In the past, I have also spoken to local groups, High Schools and medical personnel about our Program and it\'s services to increase awareness and referrals. I am an honest and trustworthy individual with a strong work ethic and comply with confidentiality regulations.
