I am currently running Drilling operations with H&P Drilling in New Mexico for one year. I was with rig 632 providing excellent service for EOG for a year. I was first hired with H&P as a floor hand and worked my way up Derricks in 6 hitches. I was an SSE during the slow down and my Superintendent(Tony Ferrel) at the time kept me working due to the fact I had worked 315 days of the 365 days of that year. I was sent home the day he took his severance package and was called back 2 months after. I ended up in Seguin Stack Yard Crew as a gate guard and worked my way up to Driller from 2016-2018. I was excited with Recommissioning and Running out of Flex 3's, 5's and Walking rigs. I oversaw the safety and leadership with Electricians, Mechanics, Welders, Inspectors, COE, BOP Group, CRT, Truckers etc...I take pride incorporating the H&P way, gathering everyone as a team and bringing all of H&P and 3rd party and running as one unit.
I started working with Arrow Drilling to be back down south and to gain Kelly experience. I learned how to complete task in a safely manner with less equipment. Finding safe solutions with the bare minimum.
I first broke out on Drilling rigs with Precision Drilling in North Dakota division. I put myself up for the challenge and worked my way up to derrickman. I learned to work in extreme weather and complete task in vain conditions. My first hitch I stayed for 6 weeks straight. I continued working a 28 days on/ 14 days off rotation for 3 years. We still operated tongs and worked on Kelly rigs that were converted to Top Drives.
As soon as I graduated High School I started working in the yard with Knight Oil Tools. I gained the knowledge of Drill Pipe Connections and grades. I also worked on BOP's, T.I.W Valves, BHA tools, Fishing Tools and Jars etc... I worked my way up to Level II in Wet Magnetic Particle and Dye Penetrants. I also ran the EMI unit and lead a crew at an early age.
