I am very good at staying busy.
I am use to running 3 operatories at one time, I can help the other assistants by communicating with them what I need help with and what they can do to keep the schedule running smoothly
I can place restorations for the Doctors. I can placed more than 1 restoration and still not fall behind on the schedule. I can cement crowns, posts and many other procedures.
I think details are important especially in dentistry. You have to pay special attention the details in your work as an EDDA but also with patient care, communication.
Other skills include:
Disinfecting rooms and equipment
Exam room setups
Patient education as far as home oral care, post op care instructions after surgery, home care after restorations and after cementing a crown, dentures, implants, root canals..

Getting back into the dental field from not working for 5 years:
I started back in sterilizing, setting up procedures, all the normal assistant work
One on One EDDA Training by Dentists
When I was working at Access Dental, I took the schedule book home with me and answered after hours calls at nights and through out the weekends.
