I am currently working at Little Seedlings Childcare & Preschool. I absolutely love this job, I love the kids, family and staff. I have felt welcomed here since the first day I started here as a substitute through out college as a full time college student. I worked here as a substitute because I was in school full time and did not know if I could work a full time job and go to school full time so I wanted to have the option to work if I had the option to. I have known my boss Angie for many years now and working with her is absolutely amazing. I started working here full time this summer after I dropped out of college due to not wanted to persuade that career. I work with all the kids that go here and help out the staff whenever need. I change diapers, read books and help prep food and prep for nap time. I am sadly leaving this job due to not getting my full time hours that I need at this time. I will greatly miss all the kids, families and staff but its time for me to go onto bigger and better plans and expand my work.
I absolutely loved working at Hannaford. I enjoyed how I was appreciated and respected at this job. They gave me the hours I needed and the respect that I wanted at my job. I loved everyone I worked with they were great people with great personalities. Working at Hannaford you start out as a bagger and work your way up to being a cashier at the front end of the store which I respect a lot. It gives you the perspective of how busy you can get and how to act towards your customers and your coworkers. Once you move up to being a cashier you have to have a great attitude towards your customers and coworkers, have a good ring time which is how long it takes you to ring up the customers groceries, and learn the codes for all the fruits and vegetables. It was a great job and a great experience.
This job was also a short term job. When I started this job I was towards the end of my junior year of high school. As I said before I love working with kids but this job was just not for me at this daycare. They did not have a great atmosphere at all. The staff was not very welcoming I felt like I was in my own little bubble and no one wanted to talk to me or help me with anything I had to learn all their ways at the daycare by myself. As I felt very not needed there I went about myself and played with the children and went where I felt I was needed. I loved the kids there but I just did not like the atmosphere and as a person going into my senior year I decided I needed to find a job where I was appreciated and could give me the hours I needed.
Working at Great Expectations was a great experience and a great opportunity. I have always had the love and passion to work with kids so this was a great beginning job to start out with during the last month of the summer before I started back up with school which is why I was not there for very long. I was also baby sitting for family friends at this time. The staff here was great they were very opening and was patient with me learning everything new and all the kids names and how the process of the daycare works. I loved this job because it helped me open up about what working at a daycare required, and help me realize if this was what I really wanted to do for a future. I was new to everything so I did a lot of helping prep food and playing with the kids and changing diapers with the help of others due to not knowing the kids names, but after about a week it got easier and I got the hang of things and I was on my own for the most part. I was always playing with the children inside and outside, reading books, coloring and anything hands on.
