My name is David Torres, I'm 18 years old and I am currently a senior Chicago, Illinois, at Mount Carmel High School. I am a dedicated student and an avid athlete and reader. I enjoy reading and researching world issues concerning the present and the past. I also like to be involved in what's going on around me, and like to be out learning and exploring the world. I love to try out new things, anything from learning how to box to learning how to code on a computer. I believe a day without learning is a day wasted. An ideal day to me is starting off organizing myself such as making my bed and organizing up my room then making sure all my chores and tasks are done such as washing clothes and finishing homework/studying. Once my life at home is taken care of, I then will go out of the house to take care of my errands such as getting a book for school from a store or getting groceries, then I train whether it be soccer or boxing, I'll spend a hour or two on that. Once that is finished I will spend the rest of my day doing as I please, it may be learning a new skill, it can be something as useful as learning how to trade in the stock market, or be something as useless but fun like trying to increase my K/D ratio on Call of Duty on my xbox, or I may spend my day improving on a skill I already know like practicing on my guitar or finishing up a lesson on coding. I strive keep my life as balanced and organized as possible, and stay as educated as possible. I want to improve myself in every way possible to be prepared for the future and be able to achieve my goals of playing college soccer, graduating from college, going to law school, becoming a successful lawyer so I can be an amazing example of what a Mexican-American can achieve when they shoot for the stars.
