Senior Financial Investigator, Patient Financial Services Metropolitan Hospital Center
Provide total direction, financial management, planning and control of all patient financial services activities including billing, follow-up, collections, cash adjustment applications, bad debt, file retention, long and short range goals for PFS.
Oversee Financial Assistance, Affordable Care Act CAC certified counselor activities, directly affecting HHC-MHC marketplace applications or free care write offs.
Develop and implement Process Improvement measures and applications for Revenue Cycle to improve operational efficiencies and to capture all sources of patient and faculty practice revenue.
Coordinate Revenue Cycle collaboration committees in regards to Revenue Enhancement in conjunction with Medical Records, Info Tech, Patient Access, HIM, ancillary department leadership and medical services/practices.
Develop Revenue Cycle management processes to include outcome indicator tracking and reporting, process improvement and the development of a balanced scorecard and Dashboard with variance reporting to senior management.
Member of the MHC Patient and Family Advisory Board which is dedicated to continuously improving the quality of services to patients, families and caregivers. The committee is comprised of MHC representatives and community patients and their families.
Senior Delegate for Local 371 of District Council 37 Union which works as liaison between Managerial Staff Members and Labor Members to work cohesively within the policies and procedures set forth thru Health & Hospital Corporations.
Continuous training of Hospital Care Investigators to conduct ward, office and emergency room interviews to establish patient's ability to pay hospital charges. Verification of insurances, deductibles and the ability to explore/explain all payment options to clients. Written instructions and recommendations for follow up on accounts using all necessary functions.
Act as Liaison between Health Maintenance Organizations, Social Workers, Medical staff and Outside Agencies within a set time frame to establish primary and secondary payers.
Maintain Clients Confidential files, process client's documentation to computerized records to establish eligibility and denials in Medicaid application process, insurances and/or HHC options.
Review and Monitor all accounts through Age Trial Balance Billing Master tracking reports and computer systems to inform senior staff of status of all accounts on a daily to weekly basis.
Prepare Written Evaluations of each Hospital Care Investigator under his/her span of supervision, timely and in accordance with departmental guidelines. Review time and leave records of employee prior to approving time off to determine if abusive patterns are developing; if needed, counseling will occur.
Provide total direction, financial management and planning for In-Patient-Patient Self Pay Area, Ambulatory Care-Patient, Credit and Collection, Charity Care/Medicaid Application, and Outsource Vendor Control.
