Education and Training
RAILROADMy education comes not from the ranks of a major College or University, but from the experience of working in vast areas of the industry. First working as a railroad clerk in an office environment seeing the process of containers moving through the gate to their eventual loading on rail cars. Next came work as a Conductor leading men on yard and industry assignments, as I always when applicable, used my seniority to be in charge. I worked closely with management at CSX 59th st. Intermodal as I was responsible for blocking outbound trains by destination with the freedom to use the yard as I wished from trust. As a Locomotive Engineer I have seen the railroad from a different perspective, and learned the operations, and how to troubleshoot locomotive problems. I have learned the vast network of rail lines in Chicago both foreign and CN from being there. I believe that this knowledge of not only what the CN looks like from a bird's eye view but the BNSF, UP, CP, NS, CSX, IHB, BRC their mainlines and rail yards is indispensable.
