Core Accomplishments
  • Expanded and reinvigorated the community profile of Congressman J. Randy Forbes by attending and participating in an increased number of community, civic, and social events, especially in the small business and minority communities.
  • Designed and directed a program of outreach efforts toward small businesses in the Fourth Congressional District by conducting workshops and presentations for small business groups, and connecting entrepreneurs with Small Business Administration and Dept. of the Census resources and programs designed to foster their growth.
  • Conducted and managed a review of a critical Voice of America news programming survey for the USIA. My analysis identified and corrected a number of serious flaws that threatened to invalidate the entire project. My recommendations salvaged the data and enabled the VOA to obtain usable information, thereby averting a waste of the $100,000 survey cost. My actions led the agency to reprioritize its outreach for a more effective news broadcasting plan for English, French and Spanish speaking countries.
  • Appeared before many corporate and business audiences as the representative of EDMARC Hospice for Children in the annual fundraising campaign conducted by The United Way, resulting in notable increases in designated donations for the hospice.
  • Spearheaded for two years a state-wide program on behalf of the Medical Society of Virginia that recruited, organized, and supervised more than 100 volunteers from across the Commonwealth to render a day of volunteer service in the offices of Virginia delegates and senators at the state capitol.
