07/2010 to 07/2011StudentUnited States Army Sergeants Major Academy - Ft Bliss, TXThe Sergeants Major Course (SMC) is the consummate institution that prepares senior enlisted leaders to execute at all command levels throughout the Department of Defense. This a 10-month course that serves to educate senior enlisted leaders from the US Army, sister services, and allied country's to be agile and adaptive senior non-commissioned officers through the study of leadership, the conduct of Unified Land Operations, and the application of Joint, Inter-agency, and Multi-National organizations in an era of persistent conflict. Focal points of this course were critical reasoning, creative thinking and decision-making skills. The course assisted in the further development of logical, practical and original reasoning abilities necessary for problem solving. Intellectual honesty, integrity, and professional values and standards are highly stressed. Learning directives prepared me for leadership positions in joint, inter-agency, intergovernmental, multinational organizations (JIIM) as well as battalion, brigade, and division through echelons-above-corps (EAC) staff sergeants major command levels. Overall, this course contained a total of 1,484 instructional hours, and I was a resident student during the duration of the course.
