My duties included the following, interpret the job orders for type of material , quantity, and the blueprints for tolerances and dimensions. after doing this i would verify and set up to rough process material in vertical band saws, horizontal bar saws, bridgeport manual milling, hardige manual lathe. overall i would get the jobs orders in sequence based on due dates and work process, get the material all cleaned up or the more experienced operators to do their job easier , runs those jobs with them to learn how thy did them as well and do the finishing and finalization all the way to packing and delivery. here i worked on 3 CNC machines such as HASS, Mazak, and Hardige.
At Samuel ans Son my duties included running a few different types of machines to full the task at hand such a shelling sheeters, horizontal bar, and rod saws, also drove side loader and standard fork truck both electric. Also i was designated to do the machine maintenance for the machines i operated as well as drove. Also learned more safety guidelines to help me operate thee machines for example the ceiling jacks/ lifts were dangerous so when i used them to lift metal sheets i would have to calculate weight and trouble shoot best ways for getting material onto the turn table to be processed.
At light fab I learned how to set up and operate slitters in controlled environments to protect the material being processed. most of the time when operating we processed different types of material usually combination specialty adhesives and not adhesive for medical , military, and automotive industries.
