Summary
In a brief summary of my personal background, I would like to highlight the fact that I was in charge of a multi-location third generation family-owned business for over thirty years.  After retiring the business, I chose to enroll in school to pursue advanced degrees and a second career, all this at what I consider a "seasoned" age.
I feel that accomplishment is noteworthy and speaks to the type of person I am and am constantly evolving and striving to be the best that I can be.
I have also further explained in a section I have titled "Addendum to this Resume"what I feel is necessary information when evaluating this resume.
I have chosen to return to the workforce if possible because I feel very strongly that I am an intelligent, enthusiastic, motivated and skilled woman who still has contributions to make and I welcome the challenge.
Thank you.

ADDENDUM TO THIS RESUME
  • To Whom It May Concern: Explanation for the lapse in employment time/frame For the past fifteen or more years, I was the sole caregiver for my husband who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease and passed away in 2014 after a long hard fought battle with this disease.
  • I chose to keep him at home, enroll him in daycare when he needed it and to allow him to live his life to the fullest and with dignity.
  • In June of 2014, I had to make the decision to commit him to McLean Hospital for stabilization and unfortunately he passed away a month later.
  • During these years, I managed to keep abreast of mental health issues and was in constant contact with his team of doctors at MGH.
  • They will provide any information you need as to the type of caregiver I was and it was a decision I still feel strongly about.
  • His illness also was the reason that I withdrew from the doctoral program at The Fielding Institute as the caregiving became a full-time job.
  • Thank you for any consideration to this resume.
  • Barbara T Claire.
