I have had the opportunity as a personal trainer to design exercise plans for individuals for the improvement of fitness and strength to increase overall well being and quality of life. Over the last four years I have taken those to skills and more to the riding arena where I assist special needs individuals in creating therapeutic riding lessons to improve their physical, cognitive, social and emotional goals.
Currently along with teaching, I volunteer many hours for the benefit of the program at Horses of Hope.
In the past I have taught as a substitute in the local school district and assisted in data entry. Along with that I volunteered in the school and helped where needed.
In 1995 I was the winner of the Nittany Lion Classic body building competition. Recently I completed a 50 mile run for a fund raiser for HOH.
Developed and executed lesson plans according to the needs of the individuals ranging from 2yrs old to 70 years old. Organized and scheduled volunteers for the riding lessons. Initiated Silver Saddles program for people over 60. Preparing to initiate a home schooling program to start this summer. Assisted in many fund raising events including one recently I organized independently. Participated in the ongoing training of our horse herd. Have been riding for seven years with multiple trainers. Most of my riding has been on the trails in preparation for CTR events and endurance races. I am familiar with and practice natural horsemanship. I have used Parelli, Clinton Anderson and Suzanne Myers educational resources.
Designed work out programs for individuals to gain strength and for weight loss. Taught multiple aerobic classes. Also worked in sales.
