  • Daily living cares as helping assist a few residents to get dressed in the mornings such as toileting them, helping get their morning essentials as in their toiletries such as their toothbrush and toothpaste, help assist them in doing peri-cares, helping them to walk to meals and/or be pushed in a wheelchair
  • Just helping the caregivers in general with any assistance they need
  • Pass their medications as shown on the QuickMAR at the specific times they are to be given
  • Getting their vitals when needed due to covid being around
  • We do get full sets of vitals the 1st week of every month to ensure all the residents health and well-being is doing good
  • Keeping up to date on their medications if there was a change in condition to where some medications were discontinued or needed to be changed
  • Keep in touch with the pharmacy if we have any issues with medications and/or have faxed them with new information for this resident
  • When we have a fall the medication aide fills normally puts a fall packet together consisting of what had happened and where did it happen, do we need to call EMS, getting their vitals, check for bumps and bruising and notify the nurse as soon as it happens
  • Explaining what the cause of the fall was if able to
  • If they decline to go to the hospital we have them fill out a declination form
  • Keep an eye on them if they do decline just in case something comes up later on
  • Contact their family by a call and explanation of what had happened
  • Faxing their doctor as well explaining what had happened and if they have any concerns or ideas as to why the accident had happened
  • Maybe a medication change, decline in daily living.

  • I went to Omaha and took an all day class to learn more as to become a better restorative aid than the stuff I already did.
