Experience
05/2019 to 10/2019 Cashier, Smoothie Station, Food Station, and Food Tropical Smoothie Cafe | City, STATE,
  • I worked making smoothies and keeping track of the orders that came in, both in the store and online orders.
  • Maintained dining and food service areas in clean, safe and sanitary manner.
  • Helped customers find specific products, answered questions and offered advice.
  • Wiped down counters and conveyor belt to remove debris and maintain cleanliness.
  • Assembled and served meals according to specific guest requirements.
  • Resolved issues with cash registers, card scanners and printers.
  • This position was challenging but also my favorite because of how good I was at it.
  • While working, I was able to get to know many of the regular customers that would come in. Sometimes I would know them by name, and know their order. I loved getting to see and talk to people everyday while working here, and building relationships with the customers to loved our food and smoothies.
  • During the summer, days would be super busy and it was challenging to keep track of all the orders, as well as make sure that each order was given out correctly and making sure that someone didn't get theirs before someone else who had ordered before them.
  • Once I got a system down, this part became like second nature. I also worked the cashier position, taking people's orders and ensuring everything went through correctly.
  • Because this position was less hands-on work, I was able to talk and connect with the customers more. This also helped with my people skills and getting more experience on interacting and working with different kinds of people.
  • I also helped out doing prep in the back of the food, so it was stocked up for whenever it was needed. This helped me get an understanding on how the store worked and where things were located if needed.
  • I familiarized myself with where certain things were, and how certain things were done.
  • Lastly, I worked the food station making the food orders. This was really fun getting to work directly with food, but it could be challenging with busy days where there were a lot of orders.
  • I was able to learn how to memorize how to make each food item, and once I was able to do that, the orders became a lot easier for me to make.
  • I became very good and working fast while making quality food. This job taught me a lot about prioritization, speed, quality vs. quantity, building relationships, time management, multitasking, and people skills.
04/2018 to 12/2018 Fitting Room Attendant & Tagger Amanda's Exchange | City, STATE,
  • At the beginning of my time at this job, I would work in the back tagging new clothes and items that came in before being put out onto the floor. This helped give me and idea on how organization was particularly key for this job, as well as giving me a full understand on how consignment works.
  • With this knowledge, it helped me be successful when out on the floor working and talking to customers who had questions about the store.
  • Recognized by management for providing exceptional customer service.
  • Worked closely with team members to deliver project requirements, develop solutions and meet deadlines.
  • Tagging was challenging because it was very important to keep all the tags in order and make sure they got put on to the right item. There was a specific system involved, and learning the skills that went along with the system was beneficial because it taught me organization, speed, and prioritization. Once I became a pro in the back, I was able to move to the floor.
  • My job on the floor was to be a fitting room attendant, where I would assist those who wanted a fitting room to try on clothes. This was especially fun because I was able to help and talk to so many customers.
  • This position was challenging in that on busy days, I had to make sure each fitting room was cleaned out of clothes and that those clothes were put back on to the floor within a timely manner.
  • Sometimes it was difficult having to keep and eye on the fitting rooms and make sure that the clothes were getting put back to where they were.
  • I would also help people find shoes as we mostly kept one shoe out on the floor and had the other one in back. I would go get them the shoe for them to try on both, but also make sure that the shoes were put back in the right spot.
  • This job was super fun in getting to be apart of retail and fashion, and the challenges taught me so much about multitasking and people skills.
  • I interacted with so many different kinds of people, some that were nice and some that were not so nice, but it helped me learn how to deal with different types of people.
06/2017 to 07/2017 Ice Cream & Hostess Bub's Burgers And Ice Cream | City, STATE,
  • Worked in the ice cream section/shop of the restaurant and take people's orders who would come in, as well as the orders that were received from people who were already in the restaurant wanting ice cream or some kind of dessert.
  • Provided information to customers regarding ice cream flavors, ingredients and nutritional information.
  • Assembled and prepared ice cream-based drinks, following recipes to produce consistent products.
  • Served and scooped ice cream, following sizing specifications.
  • Restocked ice cream disposable supplies, glass serving dishes and utensils.
  • Memorized seasonal menu options and flavors to provide customers with updated information on new items and offerings.
  • This position could be challenging at times, especially during the summer when it would become busy. Keeping up with the orders, maintaining a clean and stocked station, and correctly serving the orders was difficult, but it helped build my sense of multitasking at such a young age.
  • As for being a hostess, I was the first thing people saw when they walked into the restaurant.
  • I learned good skills on how to work with all kinds of different people, and was there to ensure any assistance customers needed.
  • On rush hour days, I would even help out the waiters will carrying out food, refilling drinks, and cleaning up tables.
  • For a first time, summer job I learned a lot of basic, essential skills for the workforce.
  • I'm glad I was able to learn them at such a young age, because it allowed me to get a head start on knowing what having a job was like, so for when I would go on to my next jobs I was able to work on those skills and keep them in mind for the future.
