I am a motivated and reliable employee who happily returned to the workforce after a long struggle with back injury that lead to paralysis. Despite the fact that I am paralyzed I am very independent. I move well and drive with hand controls. After having 35+ back surgeries in 5 years, I find it extremely easy to be in high spirits at work. It took me so long to get healthy again, I am happy to start every day, even if I won't be doing anything that day other than going to work.
Over the span of my life I developed a severe phobia of any venipuncture procedure. Having been a patient in the hospital so many times, I've experienced some terrifying things at the hands of phlebotomy technicians. This phobia made a difficult part of my life much harder than it needed to be. It is because of this I became determined to conquer my phobia and become a highly skilled phlebotomist.
I started my classes in the beginning of September and my phobia quickly turned to fascination. I am developing a smooth and painless technique. I have been surprised at how natural preforming the venipuncture procedure feels. I successfully completed my certification September 28th. I still attend classes regularly to practice stick as I am passionate about perfecting my technique and continuing my education.

I was laid off from this job once Corona hit.
I was heartbroken to leave this job because I needed spinal surgery. The spinal surgery rendered me unable to walk. It took me years of physical therapy to be able return to the workforce in my wheelchair.
