I was originally employed by Frontier Communications as a temporary employee to help with the repair load. In December 2010 I transferred to the Construction Department for a Term position lasting 6 - 30 months. During my employment with Frontier I had the opportunity to work as a Lineman. My duties included placing poles, anchors, guys, strand and both fiber optic and copper cables. Frontier declared all Term positions "Work Complete" on Dec 7, 2012.
In September 2009 I was employed by Verizon as a temporary employee. I worked as an I@M Tech until June 2010 just prior to the sale of Verizon.
I worked as a Cable Splicing Technician starting in June 1981 until my retirement in June 2009. C&P Telephone Company became Bell Atlantic in January 1984 and then became Verizon in June 2000 through the merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE. Throughout my career I've worked mainly in telephone plant construction but have also worked I&M when needed.
I was hired in June 1979 as a Lineman. I was promoted to Cable Splicing Technician in June 1981. I was responsible for placing poles, anchors, guys and cable.
