I have held various positions while employed with Farmers, where I started working with them on May, 1986, I have only added 3 prior positions as there are too many to list and do not remember my dates:
May 1986 - Fileclerk
Accounts Clerk/Unapplied Clerk
Customer Service
Rater/underwriter (now called analyst)
Commercial Trainer
Records Manager
(rest is in the experience section).
In the 34 years that I was employed with Farmers I have worked in Commerical, prior to my departure I was learning Personal LInes. I worked as an underwriter/analyst before I became a Commercial Trainer in the training team, before that I was an Underwriter/Analyst. In my previous role I worked closely with the underwriters in the Product teams as well as the Service Centers. I continued to use the commercial manuals and continued to work on commercial policies when it came to the subscription agreements/forms etc, as well as working with our legal departments.
My duty as an underwriter/Analyst was working directly with the agents to provide assistance on completing the customer applications as well as evaluating the eligibility on businesses being written. By using Appetite Guide for eligibility and guidelines to make sure that the business is profitable and acceptable, also evaluating (underwriting) renewal submissions to determine financial liabilities and company risk and determine it still meets the company guidelines. Also discussing the underwriting guidelines with the agent when a business in not acceptable, as well as if any information is needed to complete the transaction. I also underwrote the transactions that the agent submitted online that needed underwriting approval. Working directly with the agent either by phone or email when discussion is required. By helping an collecting all information that is required for the submission such as pulling Building Valuation, IRPM/Schedule Mod Credits, MVRs, Signature forms, collecting payment to bind the coverage. With all the automation in the recent years, most of the information that is required is in the electronic application, we get these assigned to us to underwrite and make the underwriting decision. Although we still use the appetite guide, UW guideline reference guides, rates and rules to make sure we are in complaint.
I am hardworking and was a reliable Business Analyst with strong ability in communication, collaboration and have strong knowledge when it comes to Commercial Documents and Manuals. Offering my experience working with the Commercial lines of business as well as working with the agents, I feel I have great phone skills and communication skills . I am highly organized, proactive and punctual with team-oriented mentality.
