United States Post Office was downsizing
Work in several areas within the postal system at different post office stations providing clerical support. Ensure all mail contain sufficient information for proper delivery. Maintain a "Downtown Log" for mail accountability purposes. Review and process outgoing mail through the mail-metering system; I would retrieve the mail from the drop boxes at the post office station, and then fill the trays with the letters and send to the appropriate personnel.
Perform general office clerical duties, including word processing. Assist in managing files and records related to correspondence/mail distribution. Make outbound calls to solicit hotels to use our designed hotel keycards. Create a massive mailout to draw new clients to our design keycards. Sometimes we have to rush the keycard orders to the hotels at the last moment, which causes us to adapt quickly to frequent sudden, unpredictable shifts in assignments involving different data.
Solve problems and promote a good public image for the company. Coordinating activities of the various departments. Supervise other employees, prepare accounting paperwork for inventory control and ordering, and manage work schedules for employees. Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits. Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
