Worked the early morning and lunchtime hours baking and plating various breads and pastries in preparation to serve approximately 5000 students and faculty members.
Started working for this restaurant within it's first week of opening. Began as one of two Pastry Chef's working to build restaurant reputation. Would bake bread for service, make ice cream, prepare various components of the pastries and desserts, assemble/plate the desserts, and clean my station at the end of service. Also spent some time as a food runner in the front of the restaurant. Responsibilities for this position included occasionally calling out orders, sending and taking food from the kitchen to the customer, explaining the details of the food to the customer, and overall customer satisfaction.
Rotated on various kitchen positions such as pantry station, fry station, plate up, and Trained on both the front and back saute stations. Depending on the day I would assemble and plate deserts, salads and appetizers, make salad dressings, make homemade croutons, prepare sauces and fried foods, call out orders, plate up orders, organize dry pantry and walk-in cooler, and clean my station at the end of service.
