Responsible for functioning as a hands-on working supervisor and under general directions plans, assigns, and oversees the daily activities of specified clinical employees that perform a variety of patient care activities in accordance with establish standards and protocol. Responsible for maintaining sufficient clinical staffing levels and adequate medical supplies needed to run the day-to-day operation of a practice. I recommend improvement processes and procedures to the practice manager; conduct regular audits of back office operations. Assist the practice manager with the selection, supervision and counseling of all clinical staff as well as the clinical staff with issues concerning patient, equipment supplies and any other matter affecting proper patient care. Review Paid Time Off request and forward them to practice manager for approval. Advise the practice manger and/or the physician of staffing needs. Oversea the daily supervision of the practice's clinical staff, including those performing phlebotomy and lab duties to assure that the back office activities are flowing smoothly and effectively. Make sure that the staff is supporting the physicians and caring for the patients. Ensure that patients are triaged in a timely manner and put into the appropriate room. Serve as the super user for quality, safety, and other clinical initiatives. Perform inventory and order necessary supplies for use in the practice. Project cost and arrange for delivery of medical supplies as needed. Obtain information on new and improved medical supplies from outside vendors. Work in conjunction with the practice manager, physicians and other clinical staff to determine best products for use in the practice. Perform the patient care activities required of a Medical Assistant. Provide a variety of clinical services to patients under the direct supervision of a physician, including phlebotomy. Serve as an interpreter between Spanish speaking patients to staff.
