ETL - Used Informatica PowerCenter to develop ETL mappings for converting data from old data warehouse to new data warehouse structures. Analysis: provided out of the box thinking and innovative solutions to irregular situations and problems. Design: leveraged data model mapping documents to produce technical design documents for developing ETL mappings and reusable artifacts. Unit testing: used mocked up data along with some sample client data to determine if mappings are performing and processing as they should be, including normal DML and transformation logic data.
Database (Oracle) - Worked with data modeling team to make sure data structures are in sync with the requirements. Query tuning: analyzed explain plans and query run times to improve performance, including rebuilding joins, removing unnecessary joins, avoiding Cartesian products, and interaction with DBAs to resolve performance issues.
Testing Support - Assisted testing team with diagnosing test scripts and whether or not they are actually verifying data correctly. Diagnosed root cause issues for actual results not meeting expected results.
Deployment - Assisted with deploying release code into production, including providing support to any ETL issues arising during deployment.
Client Interaction - Gave presentations during the project kick-off meetings. Coached the peers and client team on ETL concepts and methodologies. Conducted Knowledge transfer sessions to the client team during hand-off.
Technologies Used - Informatica PowerCenter, PowerExchange, Oracle 12.x, SVN, Cognos, Unix Shell, HP QC

Assistant Physics Instructor, 01/2014 to 06/2014 Texas A&M International University – Laredo, TX
Taught the laboratory section for “Survey of Physical Science”, a basic physics undergraduate course.
Developed syllabus, course outline and aided students in actively engaging and learning about general physics related experiments.
Assisted with teaching students from another undergraduate course, “Fundamentals of Computer Science”, an introduction to C++ programming.
Rate Analyst, 03/2011 to 09/2012 Digerati Networks – San Antonio, TX
Originally hired as a cost analyst, took the initiative to improve their processes by building two programs and helped with developing a new cost/rate product for company's customers.
Created a program using Visual C#, which analyzed Excel spreadsheets comparing new data to existing data, while categorizing and quantifying cost differences and product changes.
Assisted NOC (network operations center) operations by answering and troubleshooting network installations, and setting up new clients via Sansay (network switch) and Fastlink (billing/routing) software. Supported in-house networking hardware configurations (slabs, network directories).
Discussed routes and costs with our customers/vendors in order to grow business between Digerati and a client.
Tutor, 11/2007 to 05/2009 Texas A&M International University – Laredo, TX
Tutored students in undergraduate mathematics and computer science courses.
Directed an extra hour session for algebra-level mathematics courses.
Met with college algebra professors to discuss course material as well as student concerns. Presented specific material in supplemental sessions at a slower and more thorough pace. Led 3 to 4 hour intensive review sessions prior to exams. Used proprietary software, and helped students learn how to use the software.
