I am recent graduate of the Virginia Tech College of Natural Resources and the Environment, with a degree in Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation. I am a forestry minor, an environmental justice activist, a word and communication enthusiast, and a student of natural world itself. I plan to eventually pursue an MFA in Nature Writing Poetry at Chatham University.

I am a member of the Environmental Coalition at Virginia Tech, and am involved in the various networks of VSEC, which consists primarily of college students from Richmond, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Blacksburg and other VA schools. We have recieved national press for fossil fuel divestment efforts. We work collectively at the grassroots levels to pressure policy-makers to make more responsible, and less destructive, environmental decisions.

I got promoted to Student Assistant Manager, taking on more hours per week, and responsibilities, such as managing employees in terms of keeping the shop equipped to serve patrons (restocking ingredients, making sure the temperature charts are getting filled out, reorganizing assignment of tasks to best suit skills of individual employees, supervising clean-up).

Worked two summer seasons at Popular Heights Pool. Responsibilities included: shifts on the stand, checking patrons in, basic first aid to children or injured adults, cleaning the bathrooms, checking water pH, selling snacks, and teaching NV Swim Kids classes to young children learning to swim.
