Inspections Department 4/1/2017-1/31/2018- In the inspections department I created and issued building permits and business licenses using Incode (Tyler version 9 and 10 software). I calculated the cost of the permits and business and created a daily deposit and maintained a cash box and made runs to the bank to make change. I researched through the county tax assessor website to see if property was located in the city or not. I ran the front office which included answering phones and questions regarding type of business license permits and transferred calls to appropriate inspector when needed I kept track of and scheduled inspections for all inspectors. I used Microsoft outlook, word, and excel and I am proficient in all of those. I also used the copy and fax machine. I typed and mailed certified letters and created several permit application forms. I maintained all the files in the office and kept them organized.
Administration Department 2/1/2018- Present- I great customers that come in to City Hall and answer questions regarding business license, motor vehicles and property and direct them to the appropriate place. I also answer questions on the phone regarding business license, motor vehicle and property tax laws . I issue business license and determine the type and cost of the business license for the city of Trussville using Incode (Tyler software) and then cashier and maintain a cash box. I create deposits to go to the bank. And take the deposits to the bank when needed. I research delinquent business license and mail out an invoice and call the to collect delinquent business license fees. I also calculate the cost of the license and any late fees that have accrued using simple math. I also research to find businesses that are operating in the city without a license and contact them to purchase the license. I mail out business license renewal notices and process renewals at the counter and through the mail. I also issue car tags/ boats and new vehicle registrations ( when they have a title application) for city of Trussville residents using ingenuity software. I also use MVtrip to order tags and look up vehicle registrations/ mli records when needing more information to process a tag request. I keep track of all tag inventory and order all supplies and tags we need. I research laws regarding the issuance of motor vehicles to insure all state laws are being followed. I create and issue a refund and credit voucher when it is necessary. I also mail out certified letter for any bad checks that were returned from the bank. I issue boat decals for customers when they come in and renew or register a boat. I keep track of all tags we have sold using excel. I run reports for inventory, balancing, and distribution purposes. I print and mail tag renewals every month and process ones paid online and that we receive through the mail. I file and maintain all records for tags and boats. I also file and maintenance records for business license. I am also a notary and notarized documents pertaining to city business. I handle assessment request on property and research to see if the property has any city assessments that come in and look up property to see if it is in Trussville and also get the description information from the county tax assessor website and I create and mail a letter and an invoice for these request. I am proficient in Microsoft excel and word and outlook. and use a fax and company machine daily. I also run mail through the postage machine and apply postage for business license tags and letters that need to be mailed out. I have also created training manual to be used in the office for business licenses, building permits, and motor vehicles and have trained other coworkers on how to issue all of these.
