Graduated from the University of Central Florida in December 2012 with a BS in English Language Arts Education. Completed part-time internship at Sanford Middle School and full-time internship at Oviedo High School. Both assignments provided countless experience in the subject area, organization, and classroom management.
Success at Oviedo High School internship resulted in long-term substitute position at Oviedo. Took over a 9th and 10th grade English class from February 14, 2013 to May 31, 2013. Performed and completed all duties expected from a fully certified English teacher.
Looking to begin teaching in a full-time, non-substitute position in order to further improve teaching skills/career.

Developed innovative instruction methods that became the standard for meeting district goals.
While at Oviedo High School, improved success in reading comprehension, literary device recognition, and vocabulary by over 50%
Students who once disliked reading and writing loved coming to class when I took over as the long-term substitute at Oviedo High School.
Students frequently stay after class for tutoring and mentoring.
Showed ability to balance two jobs (Oviedo High School and Brio Tuscan Grille), illustrating commitment to hard work.
When Oviedo High School English Teacher Coral Lebeau went on maternity leave in February 2013, I was hand selected by the staff and Assistant Principal to fill the position. I believe that positive feedback/word-of-mouth during my internship is what led to me being fortunate enough to be chosen for this esteemed position.
I shared all of the responsibilities of a full-time teacher. The only difference is that it was compressed into a 15 week period.
During my final semester at UCF, I served as a full time intern to one of Oviedo's Reading Teachers, Ashley Swander. Although I was still learning the basics of how to teach in a classroom, Mrs. Swander passed on all of the required responsibilities to me. I created lesson plans, taught my own lessons, compiled progress data in a Teacher Work Sample, and built classroom management skills.
During my Junior semester at UCF, I participated in a part-time internship where I worked exclusively under 8th Grade English Teacher, Elizabeth Kelsey. Although the internship served mainly as an introduction to teaching, I still gained valuable experience that carried on to my senior internship as well as my long-term substitute position at Oviedo High School.
Graduated in December 2012 with a 4.0 average which earned an honorable mention on the Dean's List.
