As a classroom teacher, my responsibilities are vast, focusing on individual student needs, including academic, social, and emotional. I develop engaging lesson plans and activities incorporating technology according to the NC Standard Course of Study and Mount Airy City Schools' curriculum maps. The education I deliver to students is differentiated to meet individual needs and help each student succeed. I assess student progress and comprehension of subject material by administering tests and evaluating results. I continuously implement classroom management improvements to enhance class morale and engagement. I prioritize relationship building with students and ensure a positive and encouraging classroom environment to all students. I also develop positive and strong relationships with parents through email, Schoology, phone, and face to face contact to broaden my effect on children. I utilize the MTSS process and the Branching Minds platform to help identify and target individual student needs. Even outside of the classroom, I emphasize personal learning and growth.
