To be a teacher, you require extensive skills in communication, education, child care, project-based management, among others. Other skills include software proficiency, such as Microsoft Office Suite and database entry. Generally, you also need to hold a bachelor's degree or higher and teaching certification to qualify for the position.
As a teacher, your responsibilities include devising lesson plans, leading small or large group discussions, administering and evaluating exams, reinforcing classroom rules, negotiating disputes and concerns of students, among others. In terms of stress, if you lack experience in these responsibilities, you may find the job more difficult. On the other hand, if these responsibilities are similar to those at your previous job, making the switch to teaching may seem less stressful.
