The reality is that a gap in employment is not as big a deal as many jobseekers think it is. Chances are that most employers do not care about a small gap in employment when reviewing resumes. If they notice it at all, it will simply come up in the interview to see if there is a serious reason why you didn't have a job for a few years. It is best if you can describe any relevant experiences you had during that time.
Of course, when writing your resume, there may be something you can do to cover that gap up. If you were in school, earning a certificate, held an internship, or had some other kind of non-work experience which is the reason for the gap, you should include that information.
