Dear Dr. Smith,
In response to your recent ad for a Speech Therapist for the Madison School District I am submitting my resume for your review and consideration. I have over a decade of experience since earning my master’s degree in speech pathology. I began my career in the Wooster School District where I worked with elementary and secondary school students.
In my current position I work as a Speech Therapist at an Audiologist Practice helping patients with impaired hearing by recording their initial patient evaluations making a diagnosis noting changes in their condition and developing a treatment plan. I’ve also worked in a hospital setting working with stroke victims and those with brain damage. In each position I’ve held I’ve felt a strong empathy for my patients but there’s something compelling about a young child trying to be accepted even without speech problems. Add a speech pathology to the mix and life can be challenging to say the least. I find working with children to be fulfilling and would love the opportunity to work in that setting again. With a sincere desire to ease the struggle of communication and acceptance for young people and my proven professionalism I feel that I would add to your team’s reputation in the district.
I look forward to your call to discuss this opportunity. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Regards,
Felicity Weeks
