Dear Ms. Langston,
I was glad to read your advertisement for the Unit Secretary position and I am submitting my resume. I possess both an Associate’s Degree in Health Unit Secretarial Science as well as four years of experience working in a similar position at Company Name.
In my current position as a unit secretary in the orthopedic surgery department at Memorial I keep all documentation and departmental records organized and together. I greet arriving patients and take them through the admission process as well as schedule surgical appointments. I am able to communicate with people on all levels and routinely request needed documentation from clinical staff. Although I enjoy my work in the orthopedic department I feel I am ready to move into the ermegency medicine department. I understand it is very fast-paced and demanding but I know I can effectively manage the documentation discharge and admission duties as I am very organized. Additionally I have great familiarity with Memorial’s processes and systems already.
I know I would be a great fit for the unit secretary position in Memorial’s emergency medicine department. Upon reviewing my resume and talking to my references I’m certain you will agree. Please contact me soon to schedule an interview.
Sincerely,
Breanna Wallace
