I operated two different winding machines. 1. Was just for cotton or polyester yarn that would be pulled thru a carriage filled with resin and wound onto mandrels that would later be loaded onto machine #2 This machine was fitted with fiberglass that also would be pulled thru resin and wound onto the mandrels that had been wound with yarn. After winding was completed the mandrels would be loaded into one of three ovens and baked at certain temps depending on type of product. Most mandrels were 0.500 or 0.555 . Bone fiber was 0.500 and 0.645 . My job also required keeping count of all mandrels produced during my shift and entering into computer . After they were baked they would go onto the next process called finishing .
Removal of old concrete such as steps, sidewalks and driveways. Set forms and make grade to certain depths. Pour concrete and finish. We did a lot of stamped concrete witch is more tedious and takes more time to finish!
I started at age 16 just doing labor type work like helping pick up rocks & concrete that had been broken up, picking up tools & clean up. Each year I was given more things to do. By 1981 I was finishing concrete and operating a backhoe. I have lots of experience with hand tools & shop tools.
