I am an open minded, very bubbly person. I have a passion for people and helping others. Even if it is just to make one person smile.
I love the compassion that Nursing and Herbalism has shown me and the opportunity it gave me to grow.
I look forward to my future with an open heart.

I was responsible for the daily closing of the store, and the daily morning deposits.
I ordered the store for merchandise of already existing products. I met with Vendors on occasion when the owner was not available. I attended 2 large trade shows with the owner and classes. She was grooming me to take over the business when she was ready to retire in a few years. She was mentoring me in the "In's and out's" I assisted in the unpacking of daily shipments, and stocking the shelves.
I was responsible for weekly and monthly customer special orders and maintaining those and communication with the customer.
I ran the register, credit card machines, fax, copier, handled returns and took my turn on weekly cleaning of the store.
My nursing and herbal background afforded me an opportunity when working with clients to discuss medications and herbals that may or may not be contraindicated and to always consult with their physician/naturopath.
In addition to Herbals, and Vitamins the store also assisted clients with dietary issues, and specialty diet needs.
The customer was like family.
As the Clinical Care Coordinator I assisted our Pediatric, Urgent Care, Family Practice, GYN team with patients that were under insured or had no insurance with referrals and to get the medical care the team was referring them for.
I worked with our local "we care" team and getting the appropriate documentation to that department once a patient was approved so they could be seen by a specialist and following up the patient.
I worked with all our departments in facilitating the use of local agencies to assist patients in crisis and in danger- domestic violence, rape, contacting DCF, trying to find shelter for homeless, food, funding for lights.
I assisted our Pediatric department with an immigration issue on a patient whose parents were subject of deportation and creating a letter and researching the medical care in his country and based on his diagnosis what could potentially happen to him if this were to occur.
I managed the Medical Director/GYN surgery schedule and getting her patients insurance authorizations, documentation to surgery department, and following up with patients prior to and after surgeries.
I started a "blessing bag" drive at the site I worked at to help our local homeless with some day to day necessities like a water and snack, toiletries, and information of local charities and food banks.
I held a "sock" drive in the rainy season not only for our homeless but our diabetics and to raise awareness of the importance of keeping the feet clean and dry.
I assisted when needed with phone triage and scheduling patients.
I assisted the referral department with insurance authorizations when needed.
We worked together as a team for the benefit of the our patient to try and get them the best assistance possible. Kindness and a smile go a long way.
As the Restorative Nurse, I had 4 team members directly under me. Our facility had 4 units and 180 beds.
The Restorative team was responsible for admissions, transitions from therapy to restorative, falls and fall risk patients, incontinent patients, foley catheters, contractures and splint, weight loss, working with speech during meal time, restraints, careplanning, and communicating with the team daily and family.
The Restorative nurse evaluates a patient on admission for fall, foley catheter, contracture, restraints, continence, and begins care planning. I met with the therapy team on a regular basis to discuss progress of patients coming on therapy and or off to Restorative and vice versa.
I attended care plan meetings with the Nursing team, and family. I attended daily stand up meetings.
Assisted and or facilitated orders from physicians and maintained documentation for the afore mentioned Restorative areas.
I held weekly team meetings with my team to discuss progress of our patients on caseload and discharge planning/transition to the floor for those remaining long term and meeting with and or contacting families and physicians.
When needed I floated to the floor as a floor nurse and assisted with wound care. I also took part in the on call rotatioin, and was part of the code blue and red teams to assist the Nursing team in any possible during these events.
