The Community Outreach Manager position would allow me to continue all the wonderful work Sue Wells has put in place by continuing to reach to Duplin County's diverse community. Sue and I have developed a professional and successful work relationship. Also, my family has been in Duplin County for many generations and share a history of supporting Duplin General Hospital/Vidant Duplin for decades. I have a true comment to carry on my family's comment to improving the health of Duplin County and this position would allow me to meet this goal. Also, this position would include being the supervisor of the volunteer coordinator/gift shop manager and therefore results in being able to insure the continued success of both the volunteer program and the gift shop.

Goal-driven Volunteer Coordinator who has been successful at recruiting and retaining volunteers to meet various organizational needs by reinventing the Vidant Duplin Volunteer Program for adults, college students and youth. Also reached out to grant programs thru NC Works, Green Lamp and JSCC to assist with young women becoming self supporting. Increased the number of volunteers by 44% in first fiscal year ( 2nd full fiscal year has been during the Covid-19 pandemic). The volunteers recruited are a great example of the diversity of Duplin County's population.

Also reinvented the gift shop. Took inventory of the shop on and developed a plan to sell the current inventory to change the venue to a boutique style shop. The changes implemented resulted in a profitable business which allowed a record donation of $30,000.00 in the 2 full fiscal years. The largest amount to ever be donated from the profits from the shop and the recent $20,000.00 during the Covid-19 pandemic. Most of the other Vidant hospital gift shops were closed during the pandemic. Presented to Sue Wells, a plan of keeping the gift shop open because it would give Vidant Duplin team members an "escape" from the stress of the pandemic and it would be the only fundraiser for the Hospital Foundation.

Have over 25 years in the veterinary health field as a practice manager and currently working in consulting and recruiting. This background has allowed me to know medical terminology and have experience of every aspect of veterinary medicine including blood drawls, lab procedures, proper medical record keeping and I am OSHA certified thru Patterson University , Charlotte, NC. Have extensive experience in training staff on how to effectively relay health issues to clients and how to educate clients on preventive medicine so their pets can have longer and healthier lives. and most of all the importance of excellent customer service. Have extensive experience in presenting educational material to the public to inform them about how preventative medical lab work, spay/neuter surgery and proper diet can benefit and extend their pet's quality of life.

NCHVP District 6 Representative

  • Represent all South Eastern Hospitals, including Vidant Hospitals in recruiting and mentoring new members and organizing 4 meetings a year.

NCHVP Board Member - Recording Secretary

  • Attend all board meeting and record minutes to distribute to board members and to be put on NCHVP website.

Member and Treasure of Morganton Service League

  • Managed all membership fees and funds for fundraisers. Performed all accounting duties for the "Nearly New Shop" including sales tax and assisting with non-profit tax returns.

Board Member of the Historic Burke Foundation

  • Appointed member to promote Burke County's historic properties including the Quaker Meadow's Plantation operations and events.
  • Served and organized annual golf tournament.
