My experience in South Africa as a pre-vet student included capturing wildlife, immobilizing them, and relocating them. I volunteered at a township and treated stray dogs with ivermectin. I also worked at a clinic and observed the procedures they did (cat neuter, dental, laceration, canine spay). I also volunteered at a rehabilitation centerand worked with penguins that were washed up on sea. I did artificial insemination with pigs and iron supplement injections. I worked with reptiles and practiced handling. Lastly I did cattle testing and a vitamin supplement injection.
