I checked animals' temperature, heart rate and lung sounds. With the boarding animals as well as post-op clients, I monitored animals undergoing treatment for changes and signs of improvement. I observed an average of 5 to 8 spay and neuter operations each week. During my time, I also analyzed lab samples. On a regular basis, I was also asked to interpret ultrasounds and x-rays.

I worked on a farm with over 200 animals on it. I helped manage the barn and pasture with about 50 animals on it. Because this shelter took in abused and neglected animals, I was trained in Positive Reward Based Training and was able to apply what I learned when I was put in charge of working with a horse to become more social. On the property, we always adhered to high standards of safety, cleanliness and professionalism.
