Turret Truck Operator, 05/2015 to CurrentAction Personnel (for Elizabeth Arden) － Roanoke, VA
Supervisor: Thomas Saunders Phone: 540-204-6324
Current Pay: $12.57
Working at Elizabeth Arden where I worked for 13 years. Working in Receiving Dept. through temp agency now to drive turret truck, but still drive others listed in Elizabeth Arden section when needed.
The hand held & truck mount systems has been upgraded to DSI from JBA.
In receiving I use the turret truck to pull & put pallets up (putaway) into racks that are 8 levels high (@40 ft).
When someone from the other side needs a pallet pulled. I find it on the move list screen, go to the aisle, pull the correct pallet & scan it to a drop off rack at the end of the aisle.
Rubbering Department for Dies/ Delivery Driver, 04/2015 to 05/2015Parkway Steel Rule Dies － Bedford, VA
Supervisor: Jennifer Ayers Phone: 540-586-4948
Ending pay: $9.50
This company makes dies that cut out cardboard boxes from rolls/sheets of cardboard.
I worked in the rubbering dept. There we applied different sized pieces of rubber blocks along the sides of the blades on the dies. The rubber is to give the cardboard enough lift not to get stuck down in between the blades & jam up the machine once the dies are mounted to them.
The dies are both round & flat. I have seen the round dies as short as 1ft in length, then the next be almost 10ft long.
On the delivery side, once the dies are completed. Myself or one of the other workers would load up whichever dies were ready into 15 passenger vans, making sure they matched the paperwork. Then take them to they're destination. This would be multiple stops in VA including Harrisonburg, Richmond & Lynchburg. Also NC including Salisbury, Trinity & Manson. I also made 1 trip to SC to Newberry.
Warehouse Associate, 09/2014 to 01/2015Eaton Crouse-Hinds － Roanoke, VA
Supervisor: Darren Evans Phone: 540-983-1300
Ending pay rate: $13.98.
I worked in the returns department. This consisted of checking returned orders for correct quantity and no damages, for product or boxes.
Duties include re-boxing of product as needed, adding a new label, then getting all product ready to re-enter warehouse. Any damaged/scrap product is placed aside, counted and placed in appropriate recycling bins.
As of January 9, 2015 I had not yet been trained to enter the physically completed orders into the system. I was working 2nd shift and went to 1st Monday the 12th to start this training process.
I only trained on the sit down here to help in receiving & to get pallets from outside. The forklifts here are Hyster's & all electric.
Updated: From Jan.
I trained in the process of entering all physically completed returns into the computer system. This process brings the product back into stock in Eaton's system so forklift drivers can put the stock back into the warehouse.
The reason my training stopped is because I put in my notice that I was leaving on the 30th.
Forklift Operator, 05/2001 to 05/2014Elizabeth Arden － Roanoke, VA
Supervisor: Glen Powell Phone: 540-983-6512.
Ending pay rate: $17.11
In the 13 years at this company I have had a chance to work in numerous areas (receiving, shipping, modules [flow racks], bulk orders, customization, case pick).
Working in those areas has also allowed me to learn how to operate different types of equipment: reach trucks, prime movers or dock pacers (basically a stand-up counter balance truck), manual & electric pallet jacks, cherry pickers, turret trucks & walkie riders.
I am licensed on all the above equipment plus various buggies & carts.
I have had fall safety training for use on anything requiring a harness (cherry picker, turret truck).
I was also trained to change batteries in all the above equipment.
All of the equipment here was Raymond brand & electric.
There was only 1 sit down at this facility (Nissan brand), that was only really used to take cardboard bales outside along with bad pallets. I am trained on the sit down as well.
Use hand held & truck mounted RF units to move product to one area/location from another in the system.
RF units were JBA system.
I have a very small amount of time where I used Excel to edit a daily list of items while I was training as backup lead in customization.
