Duties
include planning, development, and implementation of objectives, goals, and
service needs. Create, analyze, coordinate, and implement methods for student
transportation, i.e. route design, structure, planning, stop location, equipment
assignment and capacity configurations. Prepare, analyze, monitor, forecast
cost estimates and budget recommendations for various programs, i.e. Home to
School, Special Ed, TIGG, CAPS, and NCLB, transportation budgetary accounts.
Responsible for all justifications, monitoring, and control of both
departmental budget and service based costs. Create, analyze, and implement financial,
statistical, or analytical reports relative to transportation costs, trends,
stats, and services. Interpret and enforce contract terms and conditions
between District and school bus provider. Monitor and evaluate the work
performance of contracted school bus provider. Oversee the implementation and
compliance of the Districts State School Bus Evacuation program for district
bus riders along with school bus drivers and attendant's orientation of
district programs, policies, procedures, expectations, and standards.
Responsible for the dissemination of all transportation related information
such as legal requirements, restrictions, policies and procedures

Establishing schedules and methods for transportation activities. Inform
and communicate to District personnel, bus drivers, parents and community
member of legal requirements, restrictions, policies and procedures pertaining
to student transportation. Maintain
informed on all current and pending state legislation applicable to student transportation.
Act as a liaison with contractor, bus drivers, and school personnel. Monitor
budgetary accounts for all services and programs. Coordinate State Bus Evacuation program.
Coordinate the planning of bus routes, stops, load size, and new procedures.
Review and revise the student transportation programs to maintain compliance
with state laws and District rules and regulations. Supervise, train, evaluate
and monitor the work of Transportation staff.
