  • Was not a paid job but part of my Elementary Education Degree. This semester was my first semester in the schools with students and I was at Spaght Elementary once a week in a fourth grade classroom.
  • My job was to observe and learn from my para teacher as she taught her classroom.
  • As well as observing, I also helped her students with their in class assignments as needed. This consisted of answering questions and bringing them through the demonstrations again to further their understanding of the concepts.

  • During the summer, the other counselors and I would take these children throughout the day to multiple activities, meals and field trips.

Personal Information
  • I run track and cross country for Wichita State University as a competitive athlete. I have been running as a distance runner since middle school and have always had a passion for it. As well as persuing athletics, I have a strong passion for working with children. I have been working with children ever since I was old enough to babysit and it is something I want to pursue as a profession as an educator after I complete my degree. Running and working with children are two strong staples in my life and I am extremely lucky to be able to pursue both fields at my University.
  • I listed three different high schools in my Education portion, as well as having jobs in multiple states during my teen years. Throughout high school, my family and I went through a series of moving, my dad's job shifted meaning I went to 3 different schools in my 4 years of high school. This was a difficult but impactful portion of my life that gave me life experiences and opportunities that have created me into the person I am today, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Through this experience I have learned how to adapt to new situations easily and acquire abilities on how to work and communicate affectively with a variety of people.
  • I've been a College Young Life Member from Aug 2018 to current. This is a religious organization that is meant for college students to join together in their faith. The overall purpose of young life is to introduce adolescence to Christianity and help them grow in their faith. Their motto is: "You were made for this; live the way it was meant to be."
  • Have a strong passion for the outdoors and Colorado as a state. I live in a very active household of six and we take annual hiking trips to Colorado every summer.
