These tasks include but are not limited to ensuring compliance with City ,state and government agencies (following all discharge rules and regulations), maintenance on pumps, boilers , blowers, heat exchangers, settling tanks, aeration tanks, plumbing and electrical piping and equipment, carpentry and roofing repairs and preventative maintenance.Making sound decisions and prioritizing work for the best needs of the facility. Asset management around the facility, managing facility budget and contractor management.. Scheduling and evaluations for all employees including various trades and trade supervisors (plumbers,electricians,roofers,carpenters,masons etc) Operation of 13kv switchgear and tie breakers, emergency diesel generators (460v & 4160v) due to unexpected power outages and interruptions. Training staff in safety protocol including but not limited to LOTO, Hazardous Waste Handling and Disposal, Confined Space, Hi-Voltage Switchgear.
Supervising approx 10-15 utility workers each shift in the operations and maintenance of pumps, settling tanks, sludge tanks, chemical tanks and chemical pump, compressed air systems, Signing samples to ensure compliance with city, state and federal agencies. Following proper safety protocol including but not limited to lock out tag out. Performing yearly evaluations of utility workers, interviewing candidates for positions , contract management, meeting deadlines and working under budget. Prioritizing work for the best interest of the facility, responding to emergency situations due to power outages, storms etc.
Supervision of various trades daily, Performing and supervising maintenance and repairs on toilets, tubs, sinks, pumps, faucets, storm and sanitary drainage, boilers , water lines, gas lines, vent lines , general maintenance work , electrical systems and components, Creating work orders along with scheduling and evaluations. Purchasing material under budget , laying out jobs from blue prints, involved with the facility strategic plan, responding to emergency situations, interview evaluations etc.Contractor management and meeting deadlines on projects. Bid assessments from outside vendors.
Reading blueprints and laying out work for subordinates, ordering material for new construction projects , repairs , installations and maintenance of commercial and residential, industrial properties including but not limited to colleges, banks , restaurants, hospitals, hotels etc. Cost estimating for multi-million dollar projects, and coordination of various tradesmen.
