Sr. Operations Manager, 02/2012 - 07/2015Ross Dress For Less - Perris, CA
  • Successfully oversaw a Flow Department and a Hotel Department simultaneously. Staffing: Hotel 80 associates, Fast Track 145 associates, and 6 supervisors. Fast Track Departments include Repacker's, Drivers, and Off-loaders, Unit ID, Marking, Releasing, Expediter and Rebuilders.
  • Involved in planning and startup of Fast Track. Worked with outside vendors for the setup of the departments gravity and powered conveyors. We installed a spiral conveyor to maximize line capacity for Tilt-Tray
  • In February of 2014, I was placed in charge of 2 offsite facilities to identify and correct associate and management related issues.Partnered with HR to identify the root cause of associate and management related issues. All issues have been corrected and to date no issues have arisen in any of our focus group meetings. Associates have embraced the new SOP's and best method practices.
  • The H2DC and Weber offsite facilities are responsible for servicing SWDC processing centers.Tilt-Tray, Shoes, HAD Packranges and Case picks are delivered promptly to the processing centers to ensure the UPH is not impacted.
  • H2DC is 435,000 Sq.Ft.with 76,000 locations, 60 associates and 2 supervisors.Weber 3PL is 465,000 Sq.Ft. with 62,000 locations 10 associates and 1 supervisor.Both offsite facilities contain over 220 Million dollars in inventory.
  • Oversee the planning of shuttle deliveries from DC to DC. Created the driver punch in and outbound punch out process to minimize lost time and increase driver turns.
  • Involved in planning daily UPH goals. Validate that the correct amount of on-standard and blended hours were used to attain daily and weekly UPH goals. Identified low performance areas and validated that the best methods were being performed correctly on the current project or task.
  • Participate in monitoring current and future budgets to ensure we have the correct amount of resources to achieve the companies growth projections. Achieved the companies 2014 gross CPU Budgeted =$0.2526 Actual=$.02442. Effectiveness in 2013=95.8% Effectiveness in 2014=105.8% is a 10.4% departmental improvement over the prior year. Improved the outbound UPC Budget 46.2 Actual 44.8 Support Ratio Budgeted=10% Actual=7%.
  • Monitor staffing needs for peak ramp up to ensure we have the necessary staffing on board to meet the companies demand.
  • Allocations to ship 5 days, Goal 92% actual 99%.Location accuracy rate is currently at 99.78% at H2DC and 99.96 at Weber 3PL. Shrink Budget .10% actual .06% Invalids Budget .60% Actual .44%.

  • Responsible for the successful management of the HAD department which consisted of 6 Supervisors, and 250 associates. Internal departments included: Offload, Unit ID, Marking, Releasing,Packrange, Invalids and Trouble Department.
  • Helped refine the departments best methods and collaborated in creating SOP for Packrange, Unit ID and Marking Departments maintained a balanced workflow while attaining daily volume requirements.
  • Set daily and weekly goals and provided work direction and guidance to others. Achieved budgeted targets through standards management.
  • Consistently work with a sense of urgency with the objective of driving results in a positive manner and providing work direction and guidance to the team.
  • Involved in Packrange reconfiguration. Created a serpentine pick path and moved the faster stores to the front of the Packrange and slower volume stores to the back. this productivity and improved our daily volume by 15%.
Warehouse and Transportation Manager, 03/2003 - 07/2007Authentic Specialty Foods Inc - Chino, CA
  • Responsible for distribution center of La Victoria & Embasa brand sauces and other Mexican foods over a 100 million in sales yearly.
  • 400,000 Sq.Ft warehouse that carried 180 items with a value of 20 million dollars of inventory.
  • Directly responsible for the Chino Distribution Facility, I managed 70 associates of which 30 were union associates, I oversaw 15 shuttle drivers, 5 Customer Service Reps, 2 IC/QA, 3 Supervisors and our San Antonio Distribution facility.
  • Oversaw inventory of 5 3PL satellite facilities that stored and assisted in shipping and repacking special orders.
  • Worked closely with the production, co-packers, customer service and sales teams to ensure we had enough inventory available to meet daily sales demands while maintaining a 98.2 % fill rate.
  • Managed workflow and staffing requirements to meet daily sales.
  • Ability to hit heavy volume demands. 30% of month end volume ships last week and 16% on the last day of the month. Ability to identify, react, resolve issues in a fast paced environment.
  • Developed and implemented performance and quality improvement program. relocated picking line to improve productivity moved faster moving items based on sales closer to the shipping dock.
  • Created a warehouse locater, to identify product location and product age based on FIFO practices.
  • Identify and report any QC issues to our co-packers and isolate product from general population to minimize risk to the company and customer base.
  • Streamlined inventory identification and tracking system.
  • December 06's recorded an excellent inventory; booked a .17 % variance of 20 million dollars.
  • Inventory was changed from twice a year, to once a year based implementing and standardizing receiving, stocking, shipping and housekeeping procedures.
  • Transportation maintained a 7 million dollar freight budget and a carrier base (Transportation pool) to minimize carrier failure, especially with month end spikes.
  • Negotiated rates, based on lanes and monitoring service levels of carriers to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for meeting customers requested delivery dates and relaying the information to the carrier and deciding to ship Inter-module, OTR, LTL, while consolidating shipments to minimize freight expense.
  • Auditing of all inbound and outbound freight bills.
  • Responsible for auditing all bills such as equipment lease, building maintenance, etc.

  • Supervised in a 185,000 sq.ft.warehouse distribution center Ontario, CA, 12,000 SKU's for $1 billion dollar office supply Company (owned by Staples).
  • Responsible for $5 million, in inventory.Supervised 50 associates ranging from Order Pullers, Equipment Operators, Re-stockers, Receivers and Returns Department.
  • Managed the distribution centers vendor compliance program 125K in charge backs.
