I have lived in the Central Valley of California my whole life and have always enjoyed being involved in the community.

I have always believed that people need to contribute to their community as a whole, not only as an employee and taxpayer but also as a community activist, either in paid work or as a volunteer. My thought is that by having a positive impact on your community and workspace I can influence not only my life but the lives of people I touch.

As my children were growing up I coached a county softball team for 13 years, from the time my daughter was 5 until she was a freshman in high school. I also was very involved in Merced County 4-H and the high school at boosters; I was a 4-H leader in our community for about 6 years and a county officer for 2 years.

Currently and for the last 10+ years I have been actively involved with Relay for Life sponsored by The American Cancer Society. With Relay for Life I am a community organizer, which means I work with the teams, the community, The American Cancer Society Relay for Life staff and various vendors For contracted or gratis work. We plan all our fundraisers including our annual Relay for Life Event that is a 19 hour single day event.
