Im an outdoor enthusiast who is to injured to experience the outdoors like I used to. I enjoy helping people get into the outdoors with the best equipment available so they can experience how spectacular nature can is. Talking to the customer, understanding what they are expecting from their gear, their ability level and really connecting with them is the easiest way to help them pick out the equipment that will work best for them.
I have a background on the US Alpine Ski Team (10 years) as well as XC Mountain Bike Racing (6 years), due to injuries I can no long compete, but I love to spread the love for these sports.
I got into the mechanical side of things when I kept breaking all my bikes and skis and eventually over time and with a lot of help from previous bike/ski shops and employers I got to where i am today. I have been working on bikes about 7 years and skis around 10.
Handled a fleet of 50 bikes from hybrids, enduro, XC to full on downhill bikes and performed upkeep and matenience on them. Full rebuilds, shock work, brakes, wheel trues, cables, etc. Able to perform under pressure while customer is standing there watching for quick fixes.
Strong strength in communication and able to train new employees/bike mechanics. Excellent brand knowledge and able to help provide the guest with the best equipment possible per their price point.
Head technician mainly works in the back soley doing custom manipulations to the ski boot, lines, or orthotic itself. Although going out and personally meeting the customer and talking to them directly is needed as sometimes things get lost in translation from sales floor to repair room.
Unpacking deliveries when not helping with other parts of the store and properly placing product around the store. Making sure the store remains approachable and clean. Taking a detailed inventory of what comes in and checking it against the shipping list, making note of discrepancies.
Able to take care of the customer from walking in the door, through the whole process to the register and out the door. Making it a more personable experience for the guest/customer.
