Accomplishments
  • as the only Sergeant Assigned to the South County Station for approximately 6 years, I took care of the day to day operations of the station.
  • Made sure the station ran smoothly, often taking care of any issues that would arise and later advise the Monterey Commander of what had taken place.
  • I tried to set the standard as exemplified by his day to day performance and hold the deputies in my station to that standard.
  • I develop a new patrol schedule for 2020 that opened all stations and brought back 24-hour patrol coverage to the entire county.
  • I created a training schedule for all special units to help each unit select training dates that were beneficial for the entire department and reduce overtime costs. As a result the new schedule provided county wide coverage, training that is needed for all special units and that greatly reduced overtime.
  • During the Covid-19 crisis I made sure to coordinate the delivery of PPE supplies to the South County Station and ensured all deputies in that station were properly outfitted with the necessary supplies. I also made sure to coordinate many of the station upgrades and movement that Cmdr. Tongol had implemented during his time.
  • When the River, Carmel and Dolan fires broke out, I took the roll of Field Supervisor for the Carmel fire evacuation teams.
